3 reasons you should take Pre-Race before your workouts this winter

If you've ever wondered what a pre-workout supplement is and if, as a runner/cyclist/swimmer/crossfitter/OCR racer you should take it, you're not alone. Pre-workout supplements are commonly misunderstood, especially in the endurance sports world. As the days continue to get shorter, it's common to feel a little less motivated for your workouts this winter. There's something so difficult about getting up early when it's pitch black outside to hop in a cold pool or head out onto the streets for a run. Enter First Endurance Pre-Race. This is our version of a pre-workout supplement and like all First Endurance products, it's rigorously tested and contains top-quality ingredients. We've been receiving feedback lately that as much as it helps our customers on race day, it's also a great secret weapon to get them through sessions during periods of lower motivation, so we thought we'd explain just what exactly it is and how it works:

1) Increase mental acuity

Pre-Race improves cognitive function and mental clarity through CNS stimulation. PreRace is formulated with a proprietary Neuro-stimulant blend that contains diMethyl amino ethanol (DMAE), metabromine and catechin to improve mental acuity. This special Neuro-stimulant blend works synergistically with 200mg of caffeine and quercetin to improve time to exhaustion and increase maximum workload. In simpler terms, this means that you'll feel a boost in your mental energy before your workout and experience more focused concentration throughout. Who doesn't want that on days when you just don't feel like getting it done?

2) Improve cardiac output

Lots of us use the off-season to work on our weaknesses and/or build base fitness. PreRace is designed to stimulate the Nitric Oxide (NO) system, increase time to exhaustion and improve performance. Nitric Oxide improves blood flow, clears lactate and delivers more nutrients to working muscles. Citrulline Malate and Taurine, additional ingredients in the product, have been added and are shown to enhance cardiac output leading to numerous endurance enhancements. While you're building yourself into an even better athlete for next year, use Pre-Race to help get you there faster.

3) Tested with stringent quality control

Pre-Race is not the only pre-workout supplement on the market that will deliver these benefits. However, it is the best-tested available to endurance athletes. We've all heard the stories that come up throughout the year about athletes testing positive in competition from traces of banned substances that weren't explicitly listed in the supplements they consume. This isn't something you have to worry about with Pre-Race or any of First Endurance's products. Pre-Race holds a Certificate of Analysis (C of A) -- a document which states every active and inactive substance used to manufacture a product. A C of A also shows that there are no additional ingredients added to the PreRace formulation.

Giving Pre-Race a try this winter? We'd love to hear about it. Send us an email or find us on social media and tell us how it went!
